Pokemon Lightning Yellow Mac

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube. Posted March 30, 2010. I am back, with a new idea (I have put the old one on hold) Pokemon Lightning Yellow. It is a remake of Pokemon Yellow, I got the idea from lots of people, lots of people have tried and as of yet (as far as I know) no one has finished one yet. I have started work, not much yet just past getting Pikachu. Lightning Yellow is a Fan Game (a stand-alone game made using RPG Maker) thus is only playable on PC/Mac. Pokemon Leaf Green is the enhanced version of Pokemon Yellow and you can download Pokemon Leaf Green for PC by following our guide. Download Pokemon Leaf.

Why do I feel like I'm missing something so plainly obvious?
Simple question, I think...how do I 'activate', 'give' or 'turn on' running shoes? The player is supposed to start without them, like in most of the main games, and get them at some point. Am I missing something obvious? I searched around this site using the 'search' option, I also searched youtube and the Pokemon Essentials wiki...but can't seem to find anything on activating them or getting them to work...
The only script related thing I can find is $PokemonGlobal.runningShoes
But does that turn it on/get it to work?
I feel so stupid right now ;A;
